PICT Trauma Resolution Experience (TRE)

All PICT visualisation tools allow the client's unconscious mind to access significant events and then vital information, which was not available to the person at the time, is added. The client's unconscious mind is enabled to reprocess the past, and file away positive, durable, resolved memories for future beneficial recall on a conscious and unconscious level.

The Trauma Resolution Experience (TRE) is the most powerful technique from the PICT toolbox and it has the following attributes:

  • Puts client in touch with their present resources and enables those resources to be utilised by their younger selves.
  • Provides the three elements that all children and adults need for healthy development - information, support and love.
  • Allows other similar feeling related experiences between birth and now to also automatically re-evaluate.
  • It creates inner concordance and harmony. § Allows clients to test the change work before the session ends.
  • Allows work on very traumatic experiences because clients do not need to examine painful details.
  • Reclaims portions of childhood.
  • Provides options for strong anger work or for dealing with parents who made mistakes but were generally perceived by client as good parents.

PICT works so effectively because with the TRE and all other PICT techniques working together, the unconscious can at last be connected to the information it needed at the time but couldn't have. It can at last resolve the past, remove damaging beliefs and install enabling positive beliefs that will support the client throughout their lives.
